Movies, Animals, and lots of fun to be had!



Good morning to all, it is a lovely sunny morning and we're going to have brilliant weather Friday and Saturday!

To kick off the weekend early, head out to the shops at Morgan Crossing, 24th Avenue & Croydon Drive, tonight to catch Avatar on the Outdoor Movie Screen. There will be food, prizes and activities starting at 7 pm and then the movie will start at dusk. It is sure to be a great night, so bring your blanket and chairs and they will provide the rest! Friday you will be able to take advantage of the great sunny weather and go on a free guided walk with the Beach Heroes on Crescent Beach at 11 am - meet at Beecher St. You can learn about the small-scale world right under your feet on the beach. Friday night you're in for another outdoor movie treat, the White Rock BIA will be showing The Goonies on a movie screen near the White Rock. If you're looking for some fun on Saturday you should check out the Stewart Farmhouse, 13723 Crescent Road, for Dancin' in the Barn, it will be a fun family event. For more information check out www.surrey.ca/culture-recreation/2875.aspx

Saturday will be a great chance for you to come down to the beach and check out the long awaited opening of the White Rock Museum & Archives. The visiting exhibit that they have is titled "Aliens Among Us" and it is talking about alien species in BC. There will be lots to explore there so come check it out. You can always come down to the beach and check out the Summer Music in Semiahmoo Park, this weekend will be Blues but it will not leave you blue. The event is from 3 pm till 8 pm and you can get tickets by calling 604-501-5566.

Sunday you could check out the Cinemazoo at 1395 176 St. there will be music, prizes, food and a petting zoo. Admission is by donation and this will be a wonderful family event. For more information call 604-299-6963.

Or you could head to Cloverdale for the Antique Tractor Pull, the last of the Blueberry Festival events. It will be from noon till 4 pm at Fraser Down Race Tracks and Casino, 17755 60 Avenue. For more information check out the website: www.cloverdalebia.com or call 604 576 9141.
